Isn’t that what we’re looking for?

In my teen years, I loved this heavy metal song by Stormtroopers of Death. The lyric is one word - you guessed it - anti-procratination. Seemed like a good day to bring it out of the closet. Perhaps it will amuse you as well.

This post is longer than the song.

Happiness is as easy as a little gratitude. Check out this hilarious excerpt from Conan O’Brien. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll think about it…

This video came from Usually Barefoot Meg - lots of comments to peruse there as well. For more information on this comedian, check out the wiki for Louis CK.

Do you know that you are beautiful? That the Goddess sings through your voice? That your words are Her words; your song, Her song. That the smoothness of your skin, the glisten of your sweat, your tousled hair – all are a delightful expression of your beauty and your passion. It radiates from you, this glow of pure expression.

May it overwhelm you. May this joy and light be embodied by you and every woman on the planet, a gift to yourself that takes you to the exultant heights of your creativity and ecstasy. For that is what you are. Pure, passionate creation.

May you hear this in the wind, the waves, the whisper of your lover. May you feel it in the warmth of the sun, the flow of your steps, the freshness of your breath. May you know it in your heart, your bones and your belly.

Happy Valentine’s Day.

I love working on Sundays. You see, I grew up in a religion that revered Sunday as a day of worship and community. A day to rest from the labors of the week. A day to commune with God, to reflect and renew your relationship with the divine. A Sabbath.

My first job - one that I kept for many years - was working in a bakery. Started out cleaning on weeknights, then moved to all the other great stuff that bakers do. Donuts, breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, pies. Up at 3 or 4 or 5 in the morning to have everything out when the store opened. Thanksgiving and Christmas were the busiest times - early mornings and long days. So many pies and rolls! I loved working the Thanksgiving morning and the Christmas Eve shift. For me, it was filled with mystery and magic, preparing the essentials of the holiday feasts when no one else wanted to work. It was an offering to the customers, my boss, my coworkers for me to be there, joyfully producing mountains of baked goods. It was a holy day.

I think that’s why I love working on Sundays. To me, that is what my work is about. I offer a sanctuary of rest, relaxation, communion. A place to contemplate the difficulties in life, to transform them into joy. It is a place of discovery, insight, and change on the level of mind, body and spirit.

I like the thought that I can do that on a holy day, when no one wants to work, and could use a bit of rest.

Happy Sabbath.

Happy New Year!

It’s good to be back. Sorry about my long absence. You’ll see me much more often this year, talking about touch, archetypes, aromatherapy, joy, bodywork, movement, ecstasy. Quotes, movies, books. New products and ideas.

Here’s to an amazing 2009.

I love Rumi - a poet who expresses the connection between sensuality and spirituality. I thought this might be a good quote to start out October, talking about fear and death and all.

“Don’t let your throat tighten with fear. Take sips of breath all day and night, before death closes your mouth.”

This is your chance to open to new possibilities and perspectives. To live simultaneously in your body, in your mind, in your spirit and in your heart. To walk with confidence into your destiny. To live with joy.
